I love that every German city / town has its own castle on a hill.
I also love visiting these castles.
This is the “Old Castle” in Baden-Baden Germany…a really rich small town famous for its thermal baths. OooOoo.
We went on a hike up the hill to this castle, & after looking around a bit, we went on past it & had a pic-nic under a little pavilion/gazebo where it proceeded to thunderstorm & make us miserable.
Luckily for US, we had a very talented boy with us who started a fire, lickity-split, & got us warmed up all toasty-like.
It may sound miserable, but it was actually a lot of fun.
Thank God for knowing interesting/nice/cool people.

Cologne Cathedral from the inside after climbing 800 steps up into one of the spires.
Quite beautiful.
& as of today…our backpacking is over. On our way back to Stuttgart this morning.
Happy & sad.
& then 2.5 weeks later…back in the states.
Sad.

The bartender’s dog (@ Happy Days Pub) that either sleeps on the welcome mat or sniffs everybodys butts. Super soft & so obedient. Nobody keeps their dogs on leashes around here & they always walk right by the person’s side. It’s amazing. I want every dog I see.

This was inside of the castle…it’s Sleeping Beauty’s castle ( my personal fave of the Disney princesses ) & and you could go up in the castle where it told the her story.
Super cute & I loved these tree columns.
